It’s time to get more structure and organisation into my blog, therefore I’ll change my gallery section step by step into blog posts. Although some of those trips has been quite a while ago, I’d like to share them with you anyway – because how could you forget such amazing places? So for about a week I’ll reminisce about a different destination each day… Here’s the first one:
Welcome to the postcard-like island escape! Palm trees, white sand and clear waters are in such perfect harmony, that you’ll forget all your worries immediately once you enter the Maldives. And if you’re a little sentimental it might even bring tears to your eyes just overwhelmed by the shades of turquoise and breathtaking sunsets. Probably I was so excited because it was my first self-booked (and self-paid) long-haul journey and I fulfilled myself a dream. Yes, the beaches are stunning, but the ocean is truly a huge open-water aquarium. My friend and I did our scuba diving certificate, which was an absolutely unforgettable experience. But the fragile ecosystem is seriously threatened by the sea level rise. It’s sad, but go there before it’s gone! Have you ever been to the Maldives? What are your travel experiences? I’m always looking forward to comments 🙂

Looks like paradise!
Nice! I had a short stopover in Male on my way to Sri Lanka in December. Did you go there as well? http://travellinn.net/2014/12/29/stopover-in-male-the-maldives/
Beautiful post, I haven’t been to Male itself actually, so that was some good information! Unfortunately I’ve never been to Sri Lanka either but for sure it would be nice to check it out!
Thank you! I have a lot of posts from Sri Lanka, including how to get around from the different places. Feel free to check them out; http://travellinn.net/category/sri-lanka/.
Gorgeous! I hope you make it thee someday too!
Yes, definitely put it on your list 😉
