Through the Bluntau Valley

October 30, 2015

Do you sometimes feel the urge to escape the city to finally breathe fresh air and hear nothing else than the flowing of the river? Especially after the hustle-and-bustle in Berlin and Vienna, the calm and green countryside was more than welcome to us. So to charge our batteries, we visited Salzburg for a couple of days and after some research I also found the Bluntautal (Bluntau Valley) near the village of Golling. When I saw the photos of dense forests, rivers and an incredibly clear lake between mountains, I knew this is it! And truly, it was a good choice: Not only it’s close to Salzburg but also it’s an easy hike through amazing sceneries!

The entry to the Bluntau Valley, crossing the Salzach river.

Following the stream, passing cows and bridges…

And here it is: The Bluntau lake! It’s small but the colour is breathtaking!

The lake’s water supply comes from this stream, crystal-clear like glass and straight from the alps. Out of this world.

So beautiful. Looks unreal. I love the photo of the cows and relaxing. The water and mountains looks very similar to a place in China called Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province. Really special.
